We’re looking for a 4-7 years’ experience (Senior) Application Specialist to assist in the Workforce Management Run&Dev.



As part of IKEA Digital Stratey applications within Platform Area HR & Property are relocated from Germany to Sweden. Competence build up in the area Platform Specialist (SME)/Application Specialist for Kronos is ongoing in Helsingborg to backfill and replace Germany resources. To support an agile mindset, self organising, authonomous and multiskilled recourses are requested in the new HR Platform. As Application Specialist you need to possess capabilities in the areas of Business Analysis, Solution Architecture and Project Management to be successful in the role.



The scope of the consultant services is to assist IKEA in..

Responsible for clarifying business needs, requirements management and solution evaluation:
– Identify potential improvements: to elicit, analyse, challenge and document all business needs.
– Set up a business analysis approach and plan, to support the selected business development activities (initiatives and releases). – Identify the business consequences and risks with solution alternatives for process, organisation, tools and information.
– Assure quality and traceability of stakeholder needs and business requirements, and support the evaluation of solution alternatives.
– Communicate, clarify and safeguard evolving business needs along a project or solution life cycle. Support high level solution design, validation and configuration management:
– Clarify business needs during definition and validation of high level & low level design in cooperation with architects and developers.
– Review test plans and test cases to ensure compliance to the requirements. Support the planning and execution of testing activities.


Good knowledge of the relevant business context, IKEA strategies, processes and dependencies.
– Good knowledge and experience in business analysis and modelling, requirements management process.
– Basic knowledge of configuration management and validation, including test methods and tools (ALM).
– Understanding of different delivery methods and software lifecycle management.
– Understanding of IKEA application landscape (in HR area in particular) and the technology & architectural aspects of the HR solutions as well as implemented functionality.
– Up-to-date with Workforce Management market trends and best practice within Business Analysis.


•Up to date (ie now v8.1.4) knowledge of Kronos Workforce Staff Planning and/ or Workforce Timekeeping application
•For TK: Able to configure and maintain a full TK solution, including Payrules, Accrual Profiles and their building blocks
•For SP: Able to configure and maintain an Autoscheduling setup including Workforce Forecasting
•For both: able to handle access levels (FAPs, GDAP’s, etc) and UI (Navigators)
•For both: Familiarity with the IKEA Global Standards is a pre and should be learned asap if not familiar with IKEA Global Standards right now (Global PDD’s, Global IDD’s)


•Setup, deploy and migrate environments
•Work with global teams (GDBA; GNETWORK, IWAD etc) to get needed servers, DB’s, infrastructure etc in place
•Able to read and create technical documentation (OPAM’s, deployment documents, technical specifications etc)
•Deploying CR’s and WFC interfaces
•Incident handling/ Trouble shooting
